Matson Alarm Company was founded in 1974 by Larry and Mike Matson and was incorporated in 1987. The company was founded during a safer time, when most people living in the area didn’t lock their doors and hadn’t considered the need for an alarm system; but Larry and Mike noted an opportunity to market alarm services and protection to the growing population in the Central Valley.

As the surrounding communities continued to expand, customers quickly noted that one company, Matson Alarm Company, was standing out above all others to provide alarm protection with local monitoring. Matson Alarm provided a key selling advantage over the local, regional and national competitors: they were locally owned, understood the market and had excellent customer service. Customers recognized these values as a benefit, showed their support of Matson Alarm by referrals and word-of-mouth advertising and helped our company quickly grow.

Customers could also depend on Matson Alarm to provide trained and professional technicians who could install the systems correctly and efficiently, dispatchers who would monitor their account 24 hours a day and service professionals who had the knowledge and ability to answer any questions or concerns.

The solid foundation Matson Alarm was built upon, and continued regard for it’s core business values, is shown today by the fact that Matson Alarm is the largest locally owned and privately held alarm company in Fresno and its immediate surrounding area. The current client base represents over 20,000 satisfied and long-term, commercial and residential customers; the base continues to grow monthly as Fresno and the surrounding areas continue to expand.

Services

Matson Alarm began by providing primarily burglar alarm and monitoring services, however, as the company has grown, the product line has too. Matson Alarm now offers its customers burglar and fire alarm systems, methane detection and monitoring, access control and CCTV systems, voice and data cable wiring, and audio, video and telephone systems. Services include installing, maintaining and monitoring all equipment; and Matson Alarm also offers armed response and patrol services.
